Plane Crash kills Pastor Fenwick

The Pastor that lead my parents to Christ, Ron Fenwick, was killed in a plane crash during the night last night. He is local Pastor for over 25 years at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Bowie. Please pray for his wife Kaye and their 3 grown children. What a tragic thing for them to experience. You can read an article about the crash by clicking here.

I met pastor Ron Fenwick a few months ago when I started attending Woodlawn Baptist church. Pastor Ron was a heart warming pastor and loved every person in the church. His sermans were filled with the word and straight to the point on winning souls to christ and how we needed to be right with God my heart goes out to sister Kaye and The kids my prayers are with you.

  5. Kaye and family -- It has been about 18 years since I attended Woodlawn because we moved away, but it has always remained in my heart. Pastor Ron truly was loved by all and the world has experienced a tragic loss by his departure into Glory. You are in my prayers. He loved to fly in the sky, and now he is in the ultimate sky with Jesus. We look forward to seeing him again very soon.

    Love in Christ,

  7. Kay, Ronnie, Becky, and Tom,
It has been many long years since our family were members of Woodlawn Baptist; but we still remember how Pastor Ron touched each of our lives personally. He was a wonderful Godly man, who adored his family and lead his congregation with much love and service.
We would like to express our deepest condolences to your family at this time, but know that he is rejoicing with the Lord as we speak. He was a true blessing to us, and he will be fondly remembered and truly missed.
    The Hill Family,
John, Kim, Ashley, Tyler, and Savannah

  8. We will always be indebted to Ron Fenwick and the ministry that he was so gifted to lead. God used him to bring Christ into our lives, change the future of our family and our eternity. A beautiful song says "may all who come behind us find us faithful, may the fire of our devotion light their way, may the foot steps that we leave led them to believe and the lives we live inspire them to obey" -- such a fitting tribute to the life of Ron Fenwick!

  9. Pastor Fenwick was a guest speaker in my church several times. I have a message on Heaven that he preached about a month after my son died. I listen to it now and then and am so very thankful to God for giving us Heaven. Bro. Fenwick's faith in Jesus is now so very real to him. His family is in my thoughts and prayers. I hope they can find comfort in knowing that we will be with our loved ones again soon. Just not soon enough.

  11. I grew up at Woodlawn Baptist. My family was in the bus ministry for a while and his Bible thumping sermons are STILL with me today... he was a great tool for God. I attended his Junior Church and after becoming an adult i've served in the children's ministry in one capacity or another for the last 18 years. Woodlawn will always be my "home" church and Pastor Ron was our guiding star. We'll pray for his family. Joan (Bussey)Dameron

  13. I knew brother Ron when the Woodlawn Baptist church was located in Woodlawn, MD. In fact Nina and I were married in that church in 1966. When the church moved to it's current location, Nina & I attended for a number of years. Brother Ron Loved God, his Family, the flock and flying. He convincied me to get my pilots license in 1986, and we flew together. He scared me when I flew with him and I scared him went he flew with me. We buzzed his mothers house and had dog fights every now and then and we will never foget him. He was a man who was true to his God, family, and his flock. My wife told me that your talk talks and your walk, talks, but your walk talks louder then your talk talks. Brother Ron Walked the walked and had an impact on many lives. There will never be another who will be more sincere and devoted to God then he, and he set an example for all to follow. We will miss you very much Brother Ron. You helped many to learn how to walk. Thank you my friend! C-U

  15. I have been attending Woodlawn Baptist Church since 1980. My heart goes out to Reverend Ron's Family. We have truly lost a great man of God. When my Dad' brought us to Woodlawn 20 years ago, we didn't know what a blessing it was and never could have imagined what a tremendous impact it would have for the rest of our lives. He will be missed more than words could possibly describe. Sincere, caring, humble, faithfull, wise and a great sense of humor. Aside from the countless ways his guideance has influenced my family over the years, wihtout him I'd no longer be flying.

I attended Faith Baptist on a Friends and Family as a gues of Mr. and Mrs. Gary a few years ago.
So, as great as I know he was, it still truly amazing to see how far reaching his influence is as evidence by all the comments on this blogspot.

  17. I just came to know today that Pastor Ron is with the Lord. I am very saddened by the news, but I am also glad that he is with the Lord and will see him very soon when the Lord comes back. I used to go to Woodlawn baptist church more than 12 years ago. I remember when the pastor came to my apartment in 1984 and invited me to come to church, at that time I had just come from India. I got saved in the church and I remember his great sermons which was very encouraging. I remember when he visited me when i had car accident and was not able to walk in the late 80's. In 1998 We moved from MD to Northern VA and got settled there. I got married and has a 3 year old son.

My prayers are with his wife and his three children.
